Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association - Killeen, Texas

The attendants of each Citizens Police Academy class are varied.

• Military who are about to leave the service and interested in pursuing a career with the Killeen Police Department or any other law enforcement agency
• military police wanting to learn the civilian aspect
• housewives who want to get inolved in the community and learn about crime prevention
• Community leaders to inform themselves about the broad spectrum challenges the police department encounters on a daily basis
• Students who are interested in law enforcement
• Family members of police officers

The reasons why people attend this course are incredibly varied. But no matter what reason they signed up for in the beginning, everyone walk away with a new understanding of the work and tasks facing today's police, how they can help, and what they need to look for to protect themselves and their property.

Applicants must reside in or be employed within the city limits of Killeen and agree to submit to a background check, which includes a criminal history inquiry. There is no cost to anyone who enrolls.
