The purpose and/or objective(s) for which the Alumni Association is formed to bring together its graduates in order to present and promote a positive image of Law Enforcement; the Killeen Police Department (K.P.D.) and their constitutionally mandated functions; to promote awareness and to assist the K.P.D. when requested; to enhance the relations between the community and the K.P.D., and to support all law enforcement agencies; to demonstrate to the community and all others that its citizens are attentive and concerned about the city of Killeen as a whole.

Crime Prevention: Citizens Police Academy Alumni

The group is composed of graduates of the department's citizen police academy. These citizens have expressed a desire to stay involved with the department after their graduation from the CPA. The association goals are to support the department and our officer's efforts to effectively police the community. Yearly the alumni association presents the KPD uniformed officer of the year. The alumni volunteer approximately 3000 hours a year, performing different functions within the police department. The alumni association remains a strong supporter of our law enforcement efforts and their volunteer hours are an effective tool in curbing manpower needs in the department's non-enforcement activities.
